Step 1- Read all the comments from the previous assignment.
Step 2- Choose one comment which is thoughtful.
Step 3-
First, paraphrase the comment you are responding to: For example: “Ms. Atkins thinks that…”
Then, write a question about the chosen comment. The question must be: clear, sincere, useful and be the sort of question which leads to more questions. The question you write must complicate the comment’s argument, make the reader of the comment you are questioning think deeper. Stir up some intellectual trouble
Do not ask them, "Is this significant?" this is not a useful question because it is the question which was asked in the previous assignment. If you question the logic behind the student’s argument that a topic is significant, then ask questions which will challenge the student’s assumptions

My question is for Miriam Avrutin. You said that being British may be good to Britain, but not to Americans. Well, how do you think your life would of turned out if our nation was still british? Do you think we would get tortured?
I agree with Jonathan. He said that there are still War Hawks here today. It is true that they are not alive but they still live inside the minds and souls of those who believe in war, but he is still wrong when he says that everything today is the same as back then. Today we are more advanced. We got more and better medicine, technology and knowledge today. He said that the steam engine back then was slow and the ones today are faster. That is true but people barely ride those anymore. People nowadays ride the Subway, or aka the MTA. These rides are much more faster and best of all more advanced. Alot has changed more than you think it might not have. Back then the flu was very dedadly but today's medicine makes the flu look like a gnat with the new medicines and treatment today. Alot has changed.

Jonathan Suris said that I don't think we should care about the federalist era. My question is what do you think will happen if they didn't exist? There would be no steam power, no soldiers/ war hawks, nothing. If nothing happened in 1810, we wouldn't have the things we have now. There should always be a reason to care about the federalist era.
My question is for Jonathan Suris. He said we shouldn't care about the Federlist Era. He said the steam power trains back then were slow and today we have faster ones. My question is how do you think transportation in America would be like today if it weren't for steam power engines? The steam power engines are worth something to care about.
Jonathan thinks we shouldn't study the past. I disagree with Jonathan. My question is do you think our technology now would be the same if we never studied the past technology? Our past shapes our future. If we don’t study what happened in the past then we won’t know what to do in the future. It is like an instruction manual, you have to do the first steps before continuing to the next.
My question is to Jonathon he said that we should not study the federalist era.I knoew everyone has thier opinons but think about it lets say the War Hawks hadnt gone into war with birtian dont you think we would be ruled by Britain?Isn't this a bad thing?
My question is for Victor. You said that in 1929, The Great Depression has occurred and it is similar to today's economy. Do you think we can better the economy the same way we got through The Great Depression or is this situation different?
My question is for Jonathan Suris. He said that "We shouldn't care about the federalist era". He also said that "the steam power trains back then were slow and now we have faster ones." If the steam power wasn't invented, we may not have faster ones now. Do you think that if the steam power was not invented that faster ways of transportation would have been invented?
My question is for Jonathan Suris. Jonathan stated that we shouldn’t really care about the federalist era. My question to him is what would have happened if the events that occurred in 1810 didn’t exist? Many of the things we use today were invented in 1810 such as steam powered trains, although they were not as fast as they were today but it was more efficient for trade and travel .I also think that the Yellow Fever epidemic in 1810 is also important because although is not a cure for it doctors are aware of it and are still trying to find a cure for it
My question is for Jonathan Sirius. It is true that steam engines back then were slow, but our subways are the evolved versions of steam engines. Without steam engines, we wouldn't have subways, cars, etc. Steam engines is like the seed to the growth of trains and cars. We should care about the Federalist Era.
My question is for Justin Yuen. He said that during the early 1800’s the steam engine reformed the world. Don’t you think that there were other things that happened back then that helped reform the world? For example, the cotton gin and the fights for freedom. Sure, steam power might have inspired many people today to make much transportation, but the cotton gin revolutionized the cotton industry in the United States. Another thing that reformed the world was the fight for freedom. Back then is 1810; slavery ruined the lives of many families. It was until the fight for freedom that returned everyone happy again. If the fight for freedom never happened, there would still be slaves today and life would be hard to live. Another fight for freedom helped reform the world today. If it wasn’t for George Washington and all brave Americans, we would still be under British control. So, not only steam power reformed our world today.
My question is also for Jonathan Suris. Jonathan said that we shouldn’t care about the federalist era. Don’t you think that if we don’t care about the federalist era, we would make the same mistakes as they did back then? If we didn’t pay attention to the federalist era, there would still be the mistake of slavery, 1810 inventions would not help persuade us to try new inventions, and there would be more countries ruling others. We would repeat the same mistakes that happened in the past, there would be more conflicts, and more people being tortured. Paying attention to the federalist era would help our lives today.
My question is for Jonathan Suris. He said that "we shouldn't care about the ferderalist era"
I believe that the statement is incorrect. Without many ideas such as steam power. Without it, life would be more difficult and many obstacles would be in our way. Also without history how do we overcome our past without a light to guide us? So i believe no matter how small a matter is or how big it would always help us toward the furture.
My question is for Jonathen. He said we shouldn't care, and why is that? What would ave happenened without the technology the important people that hellped change the U.S. for an better place? We should care shouldn't we, if it wasn't for steam power would we have cars or would we stil be on horses? Thnk about it ?

Alex Dubinkin posting for Alvin Fung-
My question is to Justin Yuen. Justin said"There were many inventions like the steam powered train, factories mils and transportation vechiles." My question is how did these invention helpful and non helpfu to life today.
My question is for Jonathan. Jonathan says that we should not care about the federalist era. My question is what if we didn't go to war in 1810 what would be here for us today. Just think about how different life would be.
Jonathan thinks we shouldn't study the past. I disagree with Jonathan. My question is do you think our technology now would be the same if we never studied the past technology? Our past shapes our future. If we don’t study what happened in the past then we won’t know what to do in the future. My comment is for Jonathon Suris. Jonathon said that we shouldn’t care about the federalist era because not everything have changed and had gotten more advanced. My question to Jonathon is that even though not everything that occurred or was invented benefited us today, some still did. Like the Free African Society and some people invented new things that we use today, like Tecumseh, Sam Slater, Francis Lowell and Eli Whitney. If it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be living our lives like today. So now do you think we should care about the federalist era? Don’t you think many things benefited us other than the ones that you mentioned? They were the ones who invented the technology we still use today. Don’t you think the technology they invented were helpful and successful to us today? We should be lucky that they invented such great things.
sorry for the late comment, I had no internet service for the last 4 days.

My question is for jonathon, jonathon wrote "i dont think we should care about the federalist era. Some thing from 1810 have stayed the same and changed a little and other things havent stayed the same and have changed a lot. the steam power trains back then were slow and now we have faster ones. We had war hawks back then and we still have war hawk/soldiers now, but theyre more advanced with weaponry and fighting. its not like anything new will appear because almost everything in the u.s. is relevant to everything in 1810." my question is if we dont care about the history we wont know how the steam power started or how war hawks became. Dont you think we should care for history if it affects us today?
My question is for Victor. You said that in 1929, The Great Depression has occurred and it is similar to today's economy. Do you think we can better the economy the same way we got through The Great Depression or is this situation different?
My question is for Jonathan Suris. He said we shouldn't care about the federalist era. I disagree with that statement he said. He also included that steam powered engines were slower in the federalist era and we have faster steam powered ones today. Back then steam powered engines were a big deal and people traveled faster than ever before. But in the era we live in today cars and trucks arent a big of deal as they used to be. So, my question is what do you think would happened if steam powered engines were discovered before 1810. How would people today think of modern transportation and would we have a new way of transportation? If we didnt care about the federalist era our lives would change tremendously we wouldnt have transportation until someone else discovered it, and what would happen if the land was still controlled by Britain. The federalist era was a big deal for America. I think that if we didnt have the Federakist era our lives wouldnt be the same.
My comment is for Elizabeth.
Liz gives several examples about how explores and inventions from the early 19th century influence our lives today. Yes they used steam powered engines then and we still do today, but what advances do you think we made based on the steam power engine that have helped us advance?
