My comment is for Jonathan. He said that if John Adams hadn't stopped the war, people would have died. What if France had stopped the war? Would the king of France get the Nobel Peace Prize? It's not always about peace.
My question is for Andrew. John Adams might have not started a war, but he still used up alot of the nation's money. He had hired alot of men to go to France to confront them and to tell them to stop a war from happening. He could've costed alot of lives to die by sending people to France to. What would've happened if John Adams was the reason that many people died because he orederd the men there?
My question is for Ms.Aly. She stated that "His first goal as a president was to improve relationship between the United States and France. To do so Adams sent U.S. diplomats to Paris to negotiate an end to the conflict and the peace-seeking mission had failed." My question is John Adams didn't go make peace himself, he send others. In a way, he didn't make peace. Do you still think he deserve the peace prize?
My question is for Sharena Austin. Sharena said that Washington first thought John Adams was a leading patriot. Do you think it was a good thing that Adams was patriotic & this helped increase the peace?
My comment is for Oznur. Oznur said that John Adams signed a peace treaty with France to save many people from harm. But what if John Adams didn’t sign the peace treaty for that reason? Would you still give the Nobel Peace Prize to John Adams if many lives died first before signing the peace treaty? Just because John Adams signed a peace treaty doesn’t mean he deserves it.
My question is for Stephen. Stephen thinks that George Washington should be the leader that he would nominate because he stuck with the nation through the American Revolution and he also dealt with a lot of rebellions and peace talks that happened in the United States early on when he was still very young. There was also a major rebellion that he stopped called the Whisky Rebellion which saved a lot of arguments and troubles in the new nation. Doing all of these I think that it makes George Washington a very good choice to pick for the Noble Prize.
After all that, he didn't run for third term president. If George Washington is such a good leader, why did he write that he was ”tired of public life” and “devoutly wished for retirement?” A leader that deserves the Noble Peace Prize would be happy making peace and solving arguments, not wishing for retirement because tired of public life.
My comment is for Stephen. He said that George Washington deserved the Noble Peace Prize in his opinion. George Washington did stick with the thirteen colonies in the revolutionary war, and negotiated peace talks in the United States. But John Adams negotiated peace talks between the USA and France. He also stopped a war between the two before one even happened. Given the type of leader Washington was, what do you think he would've done in Adams shoes?
My comment is for Jade Fenton. Jade stated that John Adams had made peace between France and America. Also, he said that John Adams not just made peace between France and America but also normalized their relations. My question to Jade is, what else did John Adams do other than making peace and normalizing France and America? Also, don't you think he risked a lot of lives while trying to make France and America sign the Peace Treaty?
My comment is for Stephen. he said that George Washington should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Sure, Washington stuck with the thirteen colonies during the Revolutionary War, and indeed he has negotiated peace treaties, but John Adams had a peace treaty with USA and France. He had ended what might of been one of the greatest wars before it started. Would George Washington done the same if he was John Adams?
My question is for Tina. Tina said that congress started a war with france without permission of john Adams. If so then where was adams when this happened. A president is supposed to see everything that is going on with war. Without his permission the war couldnt possibly be started. I agree that John Adams wanted peace and thats good, but how could a war start without the permission of a president, isnt that his job?
My question is for Oznur.Oznur stated "John Adams signed a peace treaty with France to save many people from harm."This is an opinion what if he didn't sign a peace treaty for that reason!Does he still deserve the award?
My comment is for Oznur. She stated that Johm Adams signed the peace treaty to save many lives from harm. However John Adams may had not done that to protect the people but to protect himself. What would happen if he killed lots of people by sending them to France for a peace treaty. It was a big risk that could have acuatally harmed many people.
My question is for Sharena Austin. Sharena said that Washington first thought John Adams was a leading patriot. Why do you think this John adams only called the british are comming to worn them. I think he needs to do more for graditude.
i have a question for alex dubinkin.alex stated that he wanted john adams for the peace prize because he would stop at nothing to make france stop fighting and have peace with the U.S.A. France on the other hand got very greedy and wanted more power and land.Dont you think your a little contridicting. You said he would stop at nothing.Do you really think that he really cared that much?
My question is for Jade Fenton. You said that John Adams keep America out of war and made France sign the Peace Treaty. What happens if France did not sign the peace treaty, will John Adams declare war on France or will he just give up ion the matter.
My question is for Jonathon. He said if John Adams didnt stop the war would many people died? If someone from the French colony had stoppped the war would he get praise like John Adams and shouldnt you include him for getting the Noble Peace Prize too?
My question is for Justin. Justin quoted that John Adams had refused to let war continue and wanted to have peace with france. What if the war hadnt stopped? would everything change instead of just one little thing? would there still be a statue of liberty or would we still have french immigrants?
